About Friends of Civic Stadium
The purpose of Friends of Civic Stadium is to promote the preservation and renovation of historic Civic Stadium.
We do this working hand-in-hand with Civic Stadium Sports and Entertainment. Both organizations are 501c3 non-profits with a joint board of directors.
Our efforts include:
- Being present on the site and keeping weeds and blackberries from encroaching on the grandstand and field. Cleanups are held on Saturday mornings when the field isn’t too wet.
- Enlisting community support.
- Planning for community use of the renovated facility.
- Explore ways to honor Civic Stadium’s past while promoting her future.
- Connecting with supporters of all stripes (historic preservationists, promoters of active youth, those who see Civic as an ideal venue for their favorite sport or entertainment, etc.)
- Soliciting community feedback on our plans to ensure the completed Civic Stadium is a community asset.
We are an all-volunteer organization passionate about rejuvenating and repurposing Civic Stadium for future generations to enjoy.
